Pizarro Attracting Interest?

Hardly surprising Hull are finding things a little difficult having lost the services of the lively Fraizer Campbell. United’s gain is most certainly Hull’s loss and it appears they’ve had little joy in finding a replacement so far this summer. Which is where Chelsea come in.

No, we haven’t decided Drogba’s pushed it a little too far. Anelka’s not about to be punished for that hideous Champions League penalty, and if AC Milan won’t take on Shevchenko’s salary, then it’s a dead cert Hull City won’t. So, who else have we got to offer to match Campbell? Well, we don’t actually, but they’ve decided to ask about Pizarro anyway.

Hull City boss, Phil Brown, confirmed yesterday that Pizarro has been picked out as a player who could solve their lack of high-quality strikers. In that case then, so could my eleven year old and he’s got a much better goal average. Seriously though, 2 goals in 28 games and Hull see him as a solution to what exactly – a goalkeeping crisis?

Apparently though, Hull have actually contacted Chelsea – and as far as I know they weren’t kidding –  about the 29 year old Peru international and despite admitting he’d be “a very expensive option” they’re waiting for the club to give them the nod.

Strangely enough though, the player, who has also been linked with a loan move to Stoke City – despite recent suggestions he has no intention of going anywhere – may have to wait to see whether we sign Robinho before he’s allowed to leave. Presumably because we just wouldn’t manage without him?
